AFQ Antonio Forcione Quartet
Antonio forcione , guitariste d'exception, est en tournée avec un tout nouveau spectacle "Absolutely Live!", qui accompagne la sortie de son nouvel album CD/DVD du méme nom sur le label Naim. Enregistré live au Trinity Theâtre de Tunbridge Wells en juin 06 et produit par Nik Murray, réalisateur anglais basé à Los Angeles, le DVD présente le groupe au plus fort de sa performance, à travers 12 morceaux extraits des différents albums d'Antonio Forcione: African Dawn, Night Passage, Indian Café et Tears of Joy. Dôté d'une personalité artistique intense, et d'une formidable inventivité, Antonio est un homme de scène véritablement exceptionnel et génial. Jamais prévisible, sa musique célébre les éléments inattendus de la vie, une musique d'une rare délicatesse, pleine d'humour et avant tout de passion. Soutenu par des musiciens d'origines variées, il crée une fusion dynamique et originale de musiques nomades, de flamenco et jazz, de sons indiens, brésiliens et latins et montre une maîtrise stupéfiante de l'instrument. Déjà en 2006, le groupe a joué en festivals et dans les salles de spectacle de Nouvelle Zélande, Australie, Barbades, Italie, Afrique, Philippines, Brunei, ainsi que réalisé une tournée compléte d'Angleterre, avec un trés grand succés.
Récemment, Antonio a eu le plaisir d'étre invité par le mondialement célébre contrebassiste américain de jazz, Charlie Haden, pour enregistrer sur son album, à paraître en fin d'année.
The sensational guitarist Antonio Forcione tours the U.K. from September to December 2006 with a brand new show "Absolutely Live!" to coincide with the release of a new DVD and CD of the same name later this Summer on the Naim label. Recorded at Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells on 13 June 2006 in front of an invited audience and directed by Los Angeles based British director Nik Murray, the DVD captures the band at the peak of their performance and features African Dawn, Night Passage, Indian Café and Tears of Joy within a 12 song 75 minute performance. The new show will distill all the best bits of the DVD back to the stage. Artistic, intense, and formidably inventive, Antonio is a performer of genuine distinction. Ever unpredictable, his is a celebration of the unexpected elements in life, a music of rare delicacy, humour and not least, passion. Already in 2006 the band has performed at festivals and concert halls in New Zealand, Australia, Barbados, Italy, Africa, the Philippines, Brunei as well as an extensive and highly successful tour of the UK! Recently, Antonio was invited to Los Angeles to record with the internationally acclaimed American Jazz double bassist Charlie Haden for a CD release later this year.
