Né en 1974 à Beyrouth, Claude Chalhoub étudie le violon dès l’âge de 8 ans et joue de la musique arabe. Puis tout s’enchaîne : Conservatoire du Liban, bourse Queen Elisabeth, Royal College of Music de Londres, 1er violon de l’Orchestre du Divan oriental occidental de Daniel Barenboïm, musicien de la cantatrice libanaise Faïruz. Claude Chalhoub enregistre et se produit dans le monde entier et récemment au festival Womad. Impressionné par la force et la passion de sa personnalité musicale, Michael Brook a produit son 1er album (ref : Nusrat Fateh Al Khan, Brian Eno). Album : Claude Chalhoub (Teldec / Warner 2003)
Born in Beirout in 1974, Claude Chalhoub began studying the violin at the age of eight and initially played Arabic music. He was awarded a prestigious Queen Elizabeth scholarship by London’s Royal College of Music, chosen to be concertmaster in Daniel Barenboimís «West-Eastern Divanî. He performs traditionnal Arab music with great passion worldwide, both alone and with other artists, including the legendary Lebanese singer Feiruz, and was recently invited in the Womad Festival. Renowned producer Michael Brook produced his first album.
