Talented multi-instrumentalist, René Lacaille is the master of the spicy séga rhythms of l'Île de la Réunion, a volcanic island paradise located deep in the southwestern Indian Ocean. René Lacaille grew up in a family of musicians and performed on stage at an early age. René's talent and curiosity led him to master the bongos, drums, guitar, saxophone and above all accordion, his favorite and main instrument now. With his children, he re-stages some beautiful songs from Reunion Island tradition.

René Lacaille Ek Marmaille presents a selection of songs blending some compositions drawn from Rene previous albums (Patanpo, Digdig, Mapou) and the recent Cordéon Kaméléon (Grand Prix Charles Cros 2009) and others writen by fellow Reunion artists such as Alain Peters, Fourcade, Loulou Pitou, Benoîte Boulard, Madoré, Jules Arlanda, Jules Joron, Narmin Ducap, Claude San Vihn.. Some songs are in instrumental versions, which allow you to discover the arrangement talent of Rene Lacaille.

Each player in turn is lead singer and companion in a family atmosphere and full of complicity. This is a replay of old songs interpreted with humor while giving the public the elements needed to understand the Creole lyrics. The band pays particular attention to the acoustic quality of the show, offering a perfect setting for those magnificient compositions from the repertoire of the twentieth century of Creole songs from Reunion Island.
