Projet presentation:

In 1979 Jacques Pellen and the harpist Kristen Nogues had started a work on serial compositions from the Barzaz Breizh that was never published. The lyrics of the « Séries » that open the Barzaz Breizh is very unique. According to Théodore Hersat de la Villemarqué, it's an educative discussion between a druid and a child. It displays a list of 12 questions and answers about druidic doctrins on destiny, cosmology, geography, chronology, astrology, magic, medicine, metempsychology ; the pupil asks his master to sing the number series from one to twelve so he can learn them. Multiples versions of the series also known as « vêpres des grenouilles » (Gousperoù ar ranned) were orally transmitted by the Goadec Sisters or Catherine Gwern.

Jacques Pellen: « After several years , I wanted to get back to work ; all the material was there but it had to be adapted and the text had to be reorganised. I ask the collaboration of Annie Ebrel, who knows very well the particular spirit of Kristen. Then the idea of inviting the band « One Shot » came naturally to my mind, with the intention of blowing some trans and progressive musical elements into it. I have been thinking of this special unique blend for 20 years : to gather the tonic accent of a voice (Annie Ebrel), the building of trans in music (One Shot ) and the special harmonies of the harpist Kristen Nogues. »
