Fanfarone: René Lacaille fanfare with his Dalons (friends, buddies, pals in Reunion Creole)

Fanfaroné : What is it?

It is a creation that offers a "traditional-jazz-maloya" repertoire, with an original line-up.
Melting original compositions by René Lacaille and covers of traditionals that were arranged for the occasion, Fanfaroné is a powerful experience.
It is also an orchestra of six musicians gathered around René Lacaille accordion, as a progressive brass band made of amazing "blowers" and Maloya rhythms, not to mention the voices of singers.

René Lacaille, "In my case it's a homecoming. As a child I played with my father, there were many wind instruments in the orchestras. It is now called "lontan" music in Reunion Island. The wind instruments play with voices, can take the place of vocals and complement them, as it can go much further than the human voice. They allow me to compose and harmonize in a very "root" style which remains close to the tradition and is yet modern and explosive, thanks to the improvisation abilities of the musicians that joined me for the project."
